Step 1 of My New Anti-Aging Skincare Routine | Almost 50

Well, as you know, I've been doing so much research lately to revamp my entire skincare routine with my 50th birthday right around the corner! I'm going to post it all soon but I'm still in the TESTING and research mode. I'm using certain things keep everything constant and really digging deep into the ingredients and understanding what works with what best and what compliments the other ingredients in the skincare process!

I've learned so much and I'm ready to share STEP 1 of my 2 new cleansers that I'm loving. One is a little more oil based to help with dryer skin in the winter but I only recommend it at night if you do other products during the day as the oils in the cleanser could slip that makeup right off your face or interfere with other layers. If you are not sure, stick to a cleanser that works for you but for me, RIGHT NOW, these are my VOTE for top two cleansers!

Why Laroche-posay? IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PH!! lol.

This has the same milky, non-foaming texture as Cetaphil and Cerave, but is visibly better and faster at dissolving makeup and dirt -- clean rinsing, no need to "tissue off", and no need for "double cleansing". Takes literally just a few rubs to breakdown makeup, vs the longer emulsifying time of Cetaphil and Cerave, both of which don't take off mascara very well. But Toleriane does the job! Face is left sparkling clean with no residual, but not feeling tight or dry.Innocuous and simple ingredient listing, reasonably priced. If you like Cerave/Cetaphil, or "one-step" moisturizing cleansers like Philosophy Real Purity, or Fresh's Soy Face Cleanser, this is up your alley.

pH of 5.5 which is exactly what skin needs to NOT grow acne or harbor bacteria. Not drying, doesn't irritate skin. Non foaming which you get used to.

Why Mad Hippie? This mildly acidic cream cleanser is pH perfection, supporting the skin's natural balance of protective oils. Many overly alkaline cleansers strip the skin of the acid mantle, a protective layer of oils. Additional antioxidants and hydrating oils leave the skin soft & smooth while gently washing away dirt & impurities.
