What are your kids drinking to replenish their bodies during SPORTS this season? | I've got your

Now that we are getting back in the swing of school and fall sports, most of your with little ones will be in complete CHAOS!

Just about every night of the week we used to have some kind of practice or game that we are running around to.

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE and I know you probably

fill up your kids water bottle with Gatorade and send him on his way!

But personally, I won’t drink Gatorade and I have a better alternative that I use with my workouts.

It is sweetened with beets (but you can't taste that) instead of loads of sugar and I decided that if I won’t put Gatorade into my body, I shouldn’t put it into my boys' either!!!

What is it Heather??

Ok, it's called Hydrate

What is Hydrate?

Before reading this post, did you know that there was a healthy alternative alternative to sports drinks that’s made with HEALTHY ingredients and keeps you HYDRATED during a workout?

It’s called Hydrate, and it’s part of the Performance line I use!!

Designed by Harvard-trained scientists, the Performance line uses plant-based nutrients to maximize performance and recovery without any artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. Hydrate is full of electrolytes to match sweat loss and keep you hydrated during exercise. It features calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium to fuel your muscles and improve endurance.

In the video below, Dr. Nima Alamdari explains the science behind the Hydrate formula.

Why is Hydrate a Better Option than Gatorade?

Hydrate has SIGNIFICANTLY less sugar and no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. It features the optimal ratio of carbs, electrolytes, and water for maximum absorption. Gatorade has at least a whopping 34 GRAMS OF SUGAR in every bottle depending on the flavor! No thanks!! I definitely do NOT want to be feeding that to my kids or drinking it myself!

Hydrate uses beet sugar and stevia, which are two NATURAL sweeteners. The other ingredients are dextrose, citric acid, silica, and natural mandarin orange flavor.

Gatorade, on the other hand, is made up of water, sugar, dextrose, citric acid, natural flavor, salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, modified food starch, glycerol ester of rosin, and blue 1. I can’t even pronounce half those words!!

The more sugar you consume, the more you crave it. One of the things that people come to me so often is that they crave sugar!! They can’t give up their sweets or they can’t resist the temptation when placed in front of them. I know that I seriously am a dessert fanatic! My mouth just waters thinking about almond torte cake, donuts and ice cream! I can tell you that I have successfully transitioned over to clean eating and I have found replacements for those things I used to crave. When I do go to eat sweets I usually end up with a killer stomach ache and a sluggish foggy brain. So my body now knows what foods it needs vs. wants.

This is the same with your kids! If you are feeding them sugary foods and sugary sports drinks, they are going to keep craving it and it’s not going to make their bodies feel good. Hydrate is one way you can keep your kids (and yourself!!) fueled with everything they need for a great game, practice, or workout!!
