I use Facebook everyday for my business.
I love that I basically get to scroll the news feed, post to my page and like photos of friends and family all over the country. The holidays and school accolades are the best for me - watching everyone's kids blossom into young adults and just the transformations I see every single day. I get to travel the world just by scrolling and I get to hear the word of God when I need it most.
I personally hopped on the Facebook Vortex in 2009 and hopped off very rapidly after a "scare" from a stranger! I learned how to navigate and BLOCK the one's I needed to and pressed forward. I get to play with all the photography settings (photo obsessed), new pretty filters and share my love for everything travel, handbags, decor, big brother, heather & fitness, family, faith and fun.
Coaching does require a lot of time on social media which can be so awesome but also so time consuming to the point where you could lose track of what's work and what just a waste. I've learned to fix this too! I don't spend countless hours lost in the facebook vortex anymore! I hit the highlights, add value to others day and set boundaries.
Facebook can create a HUGE problem and be an enormous "time suck" for a lot of people. I've come to notice a few habits with Facebook that were leaving me lost in a vortex of news scrolling and video watching. The kind where you snap out of the coma 4 hours later and go . . . where did my day go??
A lot of people freak out at the word "addiction" and basically go into auto-denial.
Guess what? Denial is usually a hint that you are hooked!
I had to take a cold hard look at my Facebook habits and really figure out if it was in fact turning into a not-so-wonderful-habit.
We waste so much of our day on social media in general!
