Everything from “flat tummy teas” to collagen peptides to “biohacked” brain boosters are being marketed to you as the missing piece.
But do we really need all of this?
Let’s break it down — from a professional, no-fluff lens.
First: The Supplement Industry Is Not Regulated Like You Think
Supplements are classified as foods, not drugs.
That means the FDA does not regulate them for safety or effectiveness before they hit the shelves.
Brands can launch new products without rigorous testing — and without proving their claims.
Some supplements can be helpful.But others are full of fillers, synthetic junk, or even banned substances.
