what they didn’t teach us about insulin + cholesterol: dr. ken d berry’s truth bombs

i’ve been deep-diving into the work of dr. ken d berry, md — if u don’t know him, he’s a family physician who went rogue (in the best way) and started unlearning everything he was taught in med school.


he’s bold.


he's direct. and honestly?


his work connects every dot we’ve felt in our bodies but couldn’t explain.

so let’s break it down:

⚠️ INSULIN: the root of almost everything

most of us are walking around with chronically high insulin and don’t even know it.it’s not just a diabetic thing.it’s a you feel puffy, bloated, hangry, tired at 3pm, can’t lose the belly fat thing.

according to dr. berry, insulin resistance is at the core of:



  • belly fat that won’t budge

  • hormone imbalances

  • skin breakouts (yep, even that chin acne)

  • cravings that feel like sabotage

  • chronic inflammation

  • even brain fog + mood swings


and the wild part?


most traditional docs don’t test for it until it’s already a problem.your fasting insulin level could be high YEARS before your glucose ever is.

🧠 HOW WE FIX IT?

our bodies are designed to eat real fats — like real butter (yes, i use it), eggs, meat, and avocados.


when we strip away fat, we end up eating more carbs and sugars. and guess what that spikes?

the very thing we’re trying to bring down.

👀 HERE’S WHAT I’M DOING RIGHT NOW (REAL LIFE):

  • 4 eggs cooked in avocado oil spray or real butter

  • turkey bacon or ground turkey

  • raw cheese, not processed

  • nothing with more than 3 ingredients

  • no oats, green juice, salads, or fruit for now (just for now)

  • no tracking, no macro counting

  • just pure intentional choices to bring inflammation + insulin down

FINAL THOUGHTS:

dr. ken d berry says it best:

“the problem isn’t cholesterol.
the problem is inflammation.”

and i’m living proof — 7 days in and my inflammation is visibly down.arms, ankles, belly — all leaner without starving.and no, this isn’t some crash diet.it’s just understanding how our body actually works.
